Fish ID · in testing
Can you beat the fish AI?
Ten real fish photos from Florida and the Gulf. Pick the species, then see what the Newbreeds Fish ID model guessed and how sure it was.
Four choices per fish. The wrong answers are the species the AI itself finds closest, so expect lookalikes.
One point per right answer, for you and for the AI's top guess.
The AI runs on the phone, offline. When it isn't confident it says "not sure" and shows its top three instead of guessing.

Get Newbreeds, freeFish ID is the species model we're building for the Newbreeds app. It isn't in the app yet. It knows 61 Florida and Gulf species plus "some other fish", and this game uses photos it never trained on. Photos come from iNaturalist, Wikimedia Commons and GBIF contributors under CC0, CC BY and CC BY-SA licenses or the public domain. Each photo's credit, license and source are under it.
